MUSIC

AN ALBUM A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY ?

Upon finishing school for the Christmas holidays I set myself a challenge...a task even. I decided each day I would at least listen to an artist a day or an album a day.
It has been 7 days so far and yes....I have stuck to it!

So far I have listened to:
  • 'Beyoncé' by Beyoncé Knowles
  • 'Nothing Was The Same' by Drake
  • 'Songs In A Minor' by Alicia Keys
  • 'Salute' by Little Mix '
  • 'Love & War' by Tamar Braxton
  • 'Bangerz' by Miley Cyrus
  • Songs by Stevie Wonder
  • Songs by Jhené Aiko
And as I type this I am listening to 'Born To Die: The Paradise Edition' by Lana Del Rey.

I enjoy finding new music especially when I find that it becomes a favourite. This task I have set myself is one of the best things I have done because listening to all this different music has been very inspiring and who doesn't want to be inspired ?!

Although I set this task for myself to do during the Winter Break I hope to continue to branch out and find new music and artists more frequently then I was previously doing.

P.S: By new music, I just mean music I haven't listened to from a particular artist. It could have been released decades ago but it is new to my little ears :)

NEW MUSIC

MARIAH CAREY RELEASES 'THE ART OF LETTING GO'

Thankfully Mariah kept her promise and premiered her latest single 'The Art Of Letting Go' on her facebook page today at 4pm (GMT). Mariah said she wrote 'the lyrics so that anyone and everyone could relate to them', that she hoped 'the fans like this' and 'they're in a place where they can listen to the bottom end, the bass and the different parts of my voice'. In my humble opinion, I don't believe this mellow ballad will be played on the radio but that doesn't matter because this is REAL MUSIC with REAL LYRICS by someone with unparalleled REAL TALENT. It also shows that Mariah isn't at all bothered about chart success (and she needn't be), she has had enough of this, she is a living legend and is still making music because it is what she loves to do.

'This is such a personal record to me. I wrote the lyrics so that anyone and everyone could relate to them and hopefully release anything that they need to let go of that's holding them back or bringing them down.' - Mariah Carey

TINIE TEMPAH: DISCOVERING DESTINY (DOCUMENTARY)

http://drivensociety.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/0.jpg

On the day of its release (31st October 2013), instead of going to a halloween party I was watching Tinie's exclusive documentary that I came across on one of my favourite entertainment websites  http://global14.com . It was very inspirational to say the least. Viewers get to witness all that went into making Tinie's debut UK arena tour a success showing rehearsals, footage from Tinie's 23rd birthday, performances from his sold out show at O2 Arena and interview segments with himself and those close to him. Those unfamiliar with Tinie are likely to have a bunch of respect for him by the end of this.

The Beauty In Nature

SUNRISES & SUNSETS

For awhile now I have been fascinated by both sunrises & sunsets but only recently have I decided to capture these beauties. Something about the fact that neither sunrise or sunset is the same as the last really inspires me. I look forward to waking up just to gaze at the sky for a moment and snap away with my phone's camera. I also can't wait to watch the sunset in the evening but I don't always catch them in time :(

My Paris Experience

PARIS; The City Of Love

In April 2013, I found a new love of my life & that was Paris.
The reason for my visit was to help my French as I was studying it at AS level. Paris is beautiful...absolutely magnificent.
The air, the people, the scenery, the food, the food...the FOOD! Everything was bliss, I felt so FREE, so HAPPY, so CAREFREE. The stresses of day-to-day life...non-existent. I recommend a visit to Paris on everyone's bucket list. I wish I had stayed there for months instead of a couple days but I know I will take another visit...another few actually!

I was lucky enough to experience life at the top of the Eiffel Tower. It was FREEZING but worth it as the view of Paris was breathtaking!

I got to taste un macaron...I had the chocolate one but I can't even remember the flavour I just remember the lingering taste of almond and I didn't like that! However I appreciate the beauty of the baked goods and I will someday attempt to bake them myself.
